The contrast between satin steel, painted alluminum and the solid marble base gives the designer lamp its special character. 

The ability to easily move and adjust the lamp’s position without compromising its balance was a groundbreaking innovation at the time of its creation, demonstrating the Castiglioni brothers' commitment to both form and function.

It is considered an icon of industrial design and was a groundbreaking innovation at the time it was created, as it is both a floor lamp and a ceiling lamp. The curved shape of the lamp arm makes this possible.
